Alliant Energy-Interstate Power & Light's New Construction program provides expert energy assistance and money-saving incentives to help Iowa farmers build in energy efficiency from the ground up.
This new program offers a unique opportunity to participate in an integrated design process that uses building performance simulation modeling to identify and implement cost-effective energy efficiency strategies which add significant investment value to the project.
Alliant Energy-IP&L contracts with an independent consultant to facilitate design team collaboration on various energy-saving strategies. A design team participation incentive—based on the square footage of the building—is offered to offset all or most of the team members' expenses associated with working with our energy consultant.
Construction incentives are structured to significantly reduce the estimated incremental cost of qualifying high-efficiency strategies.
Construction incentives range from five cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for 5 percent savings to 14 cents per kWh for 35 percent savings and above; and 50 cents per therm for 5 percent savings to $1.40 per therm for 35 percent savings and above.
