Alliant Energy : Feasibility Studies

Not sure if a specific project is viable or appropriate for your facility? Let Interstate Power and Light Company (IPL), an Alliant Energy company, assist you. IPL can help by conducting a feasibility study that analyzes your current energy usage and documents the feasibility, associated expenses, energy savings, and cost effectiveness of potential energy-saving measures.

In order to qualify for an IPL-funded feasibility study, you must be a retail account with annual electric or natural gas energy costs, or combined electric and natural gas costs, of $100,000 or more. Once you have received pre-approval and the study has been completed, IPL will reimburse you 50 percent of the study cost, up to a maximum of $7,500. If measures that account for 75 percent or more of the total energy savings identified by the study are implemented within 18 months of the study date, IPL will reimburse the remaining 50 percent for a total incentive up to $15,000. The Custom Rebate program will provide cash incentives for implemented measures with a combined payback of two years or greater.

Please Note: Alliant Energy does not fund feasibility studies for:

New construction
Pilot projects
Research and development
Financing the implementation of a project
Including projects funded through Performance Contracting
Analyzing new technology
Implementing a product/equipment to see if it will perform
Process changes not related to energy
